The school has places for 15 children in each year group. The school has mixed year group classes, organised according to age.
We have four classes which are organised as follows:
Reception (15 pupils)
Year 1 and 2 (30 pupils)
Year 3 and 4 (30 pupils)
Year 5 and 6 (30 pupils)
Each class has a full time teacher and a teaching assistant.
Teachers plan through topics based on the National Curriculum. The progress of each child is rigorously monitored and challenging targets are set according to individual ability. Children with special educational needs are quickly identified and appropriate provision is put into place. Where necessary the help of specialist external support services is used to support individual children. More able and gifted/talented children are also given appropriate support and challenge.
We recognise the importance of communication between school and parents and we are always willing to discuss any aspect of the pupils' education and welfare. We hold parent discussion evenings twice a year when parents and teachers can meet to discuss the work and progress of the children. A written report is sent home in July.
