At Broadwas CE Primary School our Vision is:
As a church school, rooted in Christian values, our vision is inspired by the miracle of the loaves and the fishes. This demonstrates God’s provision and care for us all through the generosity of one young child. By valuing each individual within our school family, we enable everyone to grow and flourish at Broadwas by providing a relevant, inclusive and knowledge rich curriculum in a stimulating, fun and loving environment.
At Broadwas we ‘Live Our Values Everyday’.
Aims of our Vision
Valuing (Respect and Love)
To be a family orientated school that is at the heart of its community where all are respected and valued, working in partnership with all parents, carers and stakeholders.
To develop our children’s spirituality through encouraging curiosity and nurturing a sense of awe and wonder in the world around us, appreciating our place within God’s creation.
To provide opportunities for our children to develop respect and understanding of their own faith, beliefs and culture but also that of others, to celebrate diversity.
Growing (Creativity, Forgiveness and Truthfulness)
To encourage children to be resilient and independent thinkers through purposeful learning.
To support our children to be self-confident and take responsibility for what they say and do in our ever changing world.
To enable every child to achieve their best whilst equipping them with the skills to become healthy, responsible citizens of the future in our local and global community.
Flourishing (Friendship)
To be a happy, loving and welcoming school where our Christian values are rooted firmly at the heart of our community.
To inspire a love of learning in all children through a high quality, knowledge rich, relevant curriculum.
To value themselves and understand they must be aspirational and outward looking with a clear understanding that they can make a difference to the world around them.
To enjoy a challenge in a stimulating, fun and exciting environment.
To reach the highest standards of learning and behaviour.
Love - We love God and one another as Jesus taught us.
Respect - We respect everyone and everything.
Friendship - We trust and value our friends.
Forgiveness - We learn to forgive those who may have hurt us.
Truthfulness - We tell the truth even when it is hard to do so.
Creativity - We celebrate the creative spirit in all of us.
Our vision and aims place ‘love’ at the heart of our school and impact directly on the way we care for the children, parents and staff in our school community. The value of ‘love’ also encompasses so many other distinctly Christian values and indeed, many of our school’s core values.
There is a key passage from scripture that emphasises the importance of love. We see this in an extract from 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7
‘Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.’
